A Japanese government council began discussions at a meeting on Friday (June 26) to compile its proposal on the size of the minimum wage hike for fiscal 2026.    

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin expressed his dissatisfaction with “too small increases” in the minimum daily wages as suggested by a tripartite committee.
